«Deviare – Vier Agenten – Part of A Movie» by Tim Zulauf / KMUProduktionen
In the installative dramatisation «Deviare—Vier Agenten—Part of a Movie» by Tim Zulauf / KMUProduktionen, four actors (Meret Hottinger, Christoph Rath, Ursula Reiter, and Samuel Streiff) engage with the same role. During the course of the narrative, which involves an IT manager who keeps turning into a beggar and back into a manager again, the focus is also on the problematics of different ways of approaching this role. The filmic narration combines motifs from early espionage thrillers with deliberations on techniques of societal control and the spatial circumscription of social functions.
During the course of the exhibition, each day from 4 to 6 p.m., outside and in the foyer of the Teatro Fondamenta Nuove, one actor performed an endlessly repeated scene from a longer, fictive filmic piece. The other three actors made their presence felt through loudspeakers and on a video screen in the theater foyer. The trilingual piece kept switching between English, Italian, and German.
